There have been some post-release cleanups, some of which were issues 
with 32 bit compilation, some other.  You might try grabbing the latest 
top-of-trunk bits via subversion pointed at:

http://www.netperf.org/svn/netperf2/trunk

Also, keep in mind that the same version of netperf/netserver must be 
running on both sides - mixing versions has never been "supported" even 
though it has sometimes "worked."  So you need to make certain that the 
netserver started is one that matches the netperf version.
