[netperf-talk] netperf with Network Address Translation

I found a way to get UDP packets routed from netserver to the public NAT address. I used a new test specific option (-A) to tell netperf the public address and stuffed it in the request message. It seems kind of kludgy because the operator has to manually enter the public address, but it works. I tried to use netserver to detect the public address from the control connection, but it appears that netserver only knows the socket number it is sending to, not the actual IP address. If anyone has any suggestions on improving this or a better way I would love to hear it.

I suspect that is going to be something of a challenge. I doubt there are any NAT devices out there which know how to reach-into a netperf control message and alter IPs and ports.
