Is it possible that Simon is running mis-matched netperf/netserver
versions?  I've seen all kinds of weirdness, especially mis-interpreting
socket buffer sizes, etc.

Simon:  Can you confirm please that your netserver and netperf are
exactly the same version, by using the -V argument to both?
