Correction - I've decided that having to quote the direct output specification 
is ok, so the code I've checked-in to the top of trunk uses ';' as the "line" 
separator on direct output selection via -o, -O and -k of the omni tests.

PS - there are still a couple kinks to work-out - I'm getting extra commas in 
the csv output when I use the direct mode and the occasional segfault after the 
human output is done
