BTW, is there any hope you could put some sort of version check,
to prevent mis-matched versions from talking with each other?
In the past, I've seen behavior where a mis-matched netserver
interprets some random garbage as a socket buffer size, and you
wind up with crazy results.  Its obvious when you know to expect it,
but really confuses new users.
