There are dependencies on glib and libxml2 that are not going to be met by a 
freshly installed HP-UX system, but I don't think that you got to that point yet :)

Netperf4 isn't even in "alpha" state at this point really.  Unless you need test 
with synchronized measuement phases, that is to say unless this:

is insufficient, I would suggest sticking with netperf2.

If you really want to do things with netperf4, then you should take the 
top-of-trunk via the subversion repository at 
http://www.netperf.org/svn/netperf4/trunk
