Another HPer is working on "windows cleanups" and I will be looking to 
merge those into the TOT when I can get the final(ish) changes.  He IIRC 
uses the DDK so most of the exposure is via that path.

You can also try 2.4.3 if you like.  It may be "more clean" wrt windows. 
  Sadly I tend to go charging-off on *nix and accidentally "break" 
things on Windows.
