Hi -
I had occasion to run netperf on a T5240 with:
SunOS s9 5.10 Generic_127111-11 sun4v sparc SUNW,T5240
and it started telling me (among other, expected warnings):
WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!
get_cpu_counters found an unexpected nsec statistic cpu_nsec_intr
Is this a reasonably new kstat, and does it act like the other
cpu_nsec's, in this case tracking interrupt time? The current code in
netperf is stuck trying to reconcile idle, user, kernel/sys nsecs with a
parallel measurement of interrupt time, and I'm wondering if this new
(?) stat is one that is measured in the same "space" as the user, idle,
and kernel stats and so I might eschew the handwaving when netperf
calculates CPU util.
happy benchmarking,
rick jones
