src/default_config.xml defines a single netserver with four tests - a 
send/recv_tcp_stream pair and a send/recv_tcp_rr pair that can be 
exercised by src/default_commands.xml.  taking that to 8 concurrent 
threads  in the same process (netserver) would be a matter of some 
cut-and-paste in both files.

take a quick glance there and if it still looks too daunting let me know
