Or, if you do want the affinit stuff via the -T option, you can perhaps 
run the openSUSE 10.3 binary on the Fedora Core 8 system.

I noticed one other thing in the original email which I'd glossed-over 
before:

Netperf is now up to 2.4.4.  I'm having vague recollections about this 
issue before and I _may_ have done something about it.  If you can grab 
2.4.4 from netperf.org, or better still try the top-of-trunk at:

http://www.netperf.org/svn/netperf2/trunk/

and see if you still have the problem that would be very helpful.
