Well, DLPI is a link-level interface.  One would use it if they wanted 
to compare performance accessing the network at the link-layer to 
accessing the network at the socket layer.  IIRC there is no "native" 
DLPI implementation in Linux, so in this context DLPI would not 
necessarily be indicated.  There is IIRC another link-level interface in 
Linux, but it is not presently covered in netperf and at the moment I 
have no plans to do so, but would be willing to entertain patches.
