[netperf-talk] Another milestone on the way to Windows

I thought I would let folks know that the "glib_migration" branch of
netperf4:

http://www.netperf.org/svn/netperf4/branches/glib_migration

which is basically the Windows port branch (*) (making use of glib) has
code for netperf and netserver that actually compiles, and netperf has
even run a "netperf -?" command successfully.

What this lacks at present is something like nettest_bsd.c compiled-up
as a DLL to be dynamically loaded at run time. I'm certain that will
uncover any number of other fun things - like filenames and path
separators and whatnot.

Of course, getting the Path variable setup with all the dependencies for
libxml2 and glib is quite "fun."

The README.windows file will say where to get the dependencies - I have
been "installing" them under my work directory. You can put them
wherever you want, but the "sources" files assume the work directory -
ie the directory into which you've done an svn checkout of the sources.

happy benchmarking,

rick jones

Note, there are a number of changes from Stephen Burger in "trunk" which
I have not yet merged into the glib_migration branch. I hope to do that
at some point soon when time and courage permit :)
