[netperf-talk] netperf4 can use Glib/Gthreads

Folks -
Another step towards the Windows port of netperf4 was completed today
when a ./configure --with-glib build of netperf4 actually compiled and
ran the default tests :) This was under a Debian Linux setup.
Those bits have been committed to the respository as Revision 74.

A plain ./configure continues to use "pure" pthreads as before.
Why is this another step towards a Windows port of netperf4? Because
glib's gthreads are going to be the rather pthreads-like abstraction
netperf uses for threading under Windows, and ultimately required
when/if it gets a GTK+ based GUI.
Anyone wishing to take part in the Windows porting effort is encouraged
to grab these bits, subscribe to netperf-dev and begin. I'd welcome any
and all help.
happy benchmarking,

one outstanding issue - the GThread abstraction is nice and all, but the
CPU affinity calls want a proper pthread_t, so if anyone knows how to
pierce the opaque veneer to get at the "real" thread IDs I'd love to
hear about it
