First, which version of netperf?
Second, which OS?

Bits of trivia like that are so generally useful that folks should get 
themselves into the habit of including them at the outset :)

Now, from the error message, it sounds like the remote system was terminating 
the connection before it should have.  Does any traffic flow between the systems 
before that error message?

Does the OS you are using have a way to trace system calls?
