[netperf-talk] netperf 4.0.0rc2 "released"

In what I hope is at least a slightly cleaner "release" than netperf 
2.4.2, I've put 4.0.0rc2 bits out there under:

ftp://ftp.netperf.org/netperf/

in the form of:
ftp://ftp.netperf.org/netperf/netperf-4.0.0rc2.tar.gz

and:
ftp://ftp.netperf.org/netperf/netperf-4.0.0rc2.zip

I've also written a tag in the repository:

http://www.netperf.org/svn/netperf4/tags/netperf-4.0.0rc2/

These bits are based on:

http://www.netperf.org/svn/netperf4/branches/glib_migration/ Revision 
164  NOT the "trunk" version.

CAVEAT - at present, unless you do something with prefixes, a "make 
install" of netperf4 will overwite a "make install" of netperf2 and vice 
versa. That is something that needs to be worked-on.  One suggestion was 
to make netperf4 have a proper super-set of netperf2 functionality. 
That may be a bit problematic.  It may end-up that the build targets for 
netperf4 will be renamed "netperf4" and "netserver4" respectively.  I 
still haven't come to one mind on that one.
