Folks -
I've started setting-up subversion (svn) respositories for netperf2 and
netperf4. The Top Of Trunk can be browsed via at
http://www.netperf.org/svn/netperf2 and http://www.netperf.org/svn/netperf4 for
netperf 2.X.X and 4.X.X respectively. I felt that netperf4 was sufficiently
different from netperf2 to warrant being a separate repository.
The "tags" heirarchy there will be used to tag specific netperf releases. I've
loaded-up most of the previous netperf2 releases going back to revision 1.8.
If you do want to do a check-out. I suggest you check-out based on
http://www.netperf.org/svn/netperf2/trunk (or netperf4) rather than just
http://www.netperf.org/svn/netperf2 or you are likely to get _everything_ going
back to revision 1.8 :)
For more on subversion, and possible pointers to svn clients and the like, start
at http://svn.tigris.org/ The subversion manual I've been using can be found at
http://svnbook.red-bean.com/en/1.1/svn-book.html .
If you happen to know more about subversion - which is entirely possible :) I'd
welcome your comments and suggestions on the respositories. One item on the
to-learn-how-to-do list is creating a "daily" tarball and perhaps zip file that
folks without subversion can access.
I've also started a netperf-dev mailing list, the archive for which will be at
http://www.netperf.org/pipermail/netperf-dev/ which has a link to a page from
which you can make subscription requests. As with netperf-talk, it is a list
that will only accept messages from subscribers. This is an anti-spam measure.
happy benchmarking,
rick jones
