[netperf-dev] seeking advice on "fringe" suites

i'm seeking advice from the multitudes on netperf-dev :)
I'm thinking of creating a test suite that does HTTP requests by using libcurl.
This would be akin to the stuff in the obsolete netperf3 kit. I could just
copy one of the existing test suite files, edit the main netperf4 makefiles and
configure file to add-in the dependency on libcurl.
However that seems excessive - particularly if someone doesn't really care about
http tests.
Sooo...
would it be better to have a subdirectory of src/ called oh, suites/ and then
have named subdirs - eg http/ with independent configure and make files and
then have folks build them on their own when they want them?
